1) Engineering Team Lead - Analytics
San Francisco
Do you enjoy numerical analysis on vast (petabytes) amounts of data? Is the challenge of finding
simple visualizations for complex data sets exciting for you? Do you want to put to use all of
those statistics and mathematics courses you took back in school? Then Flurry’s Analytics team
is the place for you.
We are looking for an energetic Engineering Team Lead with experience running agile
development teams and building large-scale Java applications. Flurry Analytics currently tracks
over 300 million application sessions a day across over 250 million mobile devices and is
growing rapidly. You’ll not only help with this explosive growth, but also lead a small team in
adding features and improvements to help the over 60,000 developers using Flurry Analytics.
All of this as part of an enormously fast-paced and disciplined software engineering team that is
driven by releasing quality products.
This job will be in our San Francisco office, convenient to mass transit and numerous wonderful
Things you will do:
- Lead a small team of 4-5 brilliant engineers doing releases every 1.5 weeks
- Coordinate with the Product Manager to set a roadmap and milestones
- Coordinate the release planning for your team and run code reviews to ensure quality
- Interview and hire other developers to join your team
- Spend most of your time building new features for Analytics using Hadoop, HBase, Struts 2 and Hibernate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; Master's a plus.
- 4+ years experience building highly scalable and reliable Java applications.
- 2+ years as an engineering team lead for teams of at least 4-5 developers
- Experience with Java, Linux, MySQL, multithreaded programming.
- Experience with JSP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX.
- Experience working at a growth-stage startup company
- Experience with Hadoop or Hbase a plus.
2) Front-End/Web Developer
San Francisco
We are looking for a Front-End/Web Engineer with experience developing easy-to-use web interfaces. You will also have the opportunity to work on applications and services for iPhones and other mobile platforms. And you will design and implement key components of the Flurry Platform, working closely with the rest of our world-class engineering team.

Responsibilities:
- Design, scope, implement, and test new features end-to-end both independently and with other team members.
- Work with designers to implement visual designs.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and performance tune.
- Write unit-tested and maintainable code.
- Work as part of an agile development team, including code reviews and testing.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience building intuitive and simple web sites.
- Experience with Java, Linux, MySQL, multithreaded programming.
- Experience with JSP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX.
- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator or other common graphics tools.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; Master's a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, unit-testing, and performance tuning skills.
- Excellent communication skills in a team-oriented workplace.
- Experience with iPhone, Android or other mobile platforms a plus.
