mahout search based clustering?

Hello all, Hope the weekend is going well. I am new to the digital engineering space - I have a physical science background and currently climbing the steep marketing/business analytics learning curve. I am focused on developing a search based clustering tool - to discover key digital influencer's that are hubs of certain keyword parameter activity and not just clustering of documents that have co-occurences of particular terms. I am wondering if mahout can help me achieve these goals? Any…See More

For webcrawling for your data collection, perhaps nutch or heritrix. The mahout project provides a rich set of tools for clustering. Carrot2 provides some decent visualization tools for small data sets.

seeking advice on word vectors

Hello all,Hope all is well in the community. I am inquiring on how to apply hadoop to retrieve information from various blogs, news feeds, etc.. in a particular fashion.I have identified three groups of word pairs that are valuable to me. I would like to explore the clustering patterns among particular URL's of these particular word pairs in their respective blog spaces, news feeds, etc.So, given that I have an expected output structure i.e. three groups of words that I believe to have distinct…See More

You probably need to provide the root .bashrc, the .bash_profile and perhaps the /etc/bashrc or equivalent files

It has been so long since I have done a fresh install of fedora, I have forgotten all about the alternatives confusion. Thanks Eric. You can always force the JAVA_HOME to the installation directory of the jdk and include ${JAVA_HOME}/bin early in…

If you are using Fedora, then you probably have a lot of OpenJDK stuff clogging the works. I'm running Fedora as well and I had to do a bunch of stuff with alternatives in order to get OpenJDK out of my common path stuff. If you google for…

In your prior email you reference ~download and ~Download filenames are case sensitive on linux machines. If you did in fact type them correctly you have 2 different directorys.
